My background

In September 2007, after completing a A-level at the Lycée Grand Air in La Baule (with my feet in the sand), I enrolled at the Law University in Nantes. After my university general studies diploma, I had the opportunity to study for 1 year in Mexico under the Erasmus Mundus program (bilateral agreement between the University of Nantes and the Faculty of Veracruz). After such a personally and professionally enriching experience, I returned to France with the intention of specializing in Labor Law.

In June 2012, I turned 23 and graduated from the Master 1 in Social Law at the University of Nantes. But when it came time to move on to the Master 2, I realized that after the theory, I needed to make room for practice and “finally” enter the world of work, so I applied for the work/study training course “Manager of Human Resources Organization and Social Relations” at the Vendée School of Management in Montaigu. After 15 months’ training, I obtained this professional qualification, and gained a wealth of professional experience, first in the Human Resources Department of a major banking group in Nantes, before leaving my native region (goodbye salted butter caramel and the Nantes priest) to join an SME in the Paris suburbs operating in the therapeutic vaccine research sector.

After losing my job as Human Resources Assistant due to economic layoff, I joined HIFIELD, the financial holding company of a fast-growing Group. In parallel with this new position, I went back to university and obtained a Universtity Diploma in “Payroll Management and Administration” at Paris-Dauphine University.

My missions

Today, I enjoy my job for 3 reasons:
  • I’m autonomous, I organize myself as I wish according to the different projects and responsibilities that Management entrusts to me.
  • I’m in contact with all the different players in the company, both management and employees.
  • I’m a generalist, which means that my missions and tasks don’t boil down to a specific field. In fact, on a day-to-day basis, I work on a wide range of human resources issues, including personnel administration, training, payroll, skills development and assessment, relations with employee representatives, and employee health and safety.

My daily routine at Almond

One of the advantages of being a Human Resources officer in a human-sized company is that there’s no routine! Every day is different, even if some tasks come up every month, like payroll (lucky for you, otherwise we wouldn’t receive your salary every month! 😉 ). So I can organize my day freely according to the projects in progress and my desires.

I usually start work around 9:00-9:30 (after walking my dog and taking public transport all over Paris). When I arrive, I greet my colleagues on the premises, go to the office I share with Domitille, the Human Resources Manager, and deal with my e-mails (I always try to be as clear and responsive as possible, because my customers are you, the Group’s future employees! 😊).

The morning follows on from dealing with the various subjects/projects in progress, interspersed with new requests and emergencies. In short, I’m never bored!
At lunchtime, I have lunch with my colleagues, either at the Inter-Companies Restaurant (which I recommend for the quality and freshness of its products), or we pick up our meal in the local shops and go back upstairs to eat our meal in the cafeterias that have just been set up in our new premises.

In the afternoon, I am back on track. Sometimes there are meetings or employees come to visit me with questions.
After a few hours’ work, my busy day comes to an end around 6:30 p.m., and it’s time to go home!
To conclude, working for HIFIELD means professional fulfillment thanks to challenging missions within a human and dynamic company where good humor is contagious!
